Fused Glass Heart Shaped Dish Dichroic Red

by JOYSOFGLASS

£17.50

A beautiful heart shaped shallow dish which I’ve fused in my little kiln.

It will make a lovely Valentine’s or Mother’s Day gift or indeed a gift for any occasion.

It measures 15cm x 16cm wideand is 2cm deep.

It has a base layer of clear Bullseye glass and a top layer of red streaked collage glass.  The rim is decorated with red glass frit which I made in my frit maker and then the base of the dish is embellished with precious red and gold dichroic glass to give a luxurious finish.

I have a fusing kiln. I have lots of glass and an addiction to making beautiful glass pieces.

I hope you like what I have made. You can use it as a trinket or maybe a sweetie dish or just as an ornament to decorate your home.

Made with and by Joy to be given with love.

The bowl is all ready to post. Postage is charged as Royal Mail tracked 24.

Description

The heart shaped shallow dish measures 15cm x 16cm wide and is 2cm deep.

Made from Bullseye glass, handcut, shaped, layered and decorated with a unique design of precious (aka expensive) Dichroic glass.
It has been fused in my little glass kiln. Once to fuse the layers of glass and decoration together, second fuse to slump the heart shaped glass into a shallow dish.

Dichroic (pronounced “dye-crow-ick”) glass, literally means “two colored.” It is derived from the Greek words “di” for two, and “chroma” for color. It was thus named because of its fantastic multicolour reflective properties. It appears to have more than one color at the same time, especially when viewed with different lighting.

My kiln is only small so I make only one-off pieces, no mass production is possible.
Each piece of fused glass I make is unique and very special.

A very pretty little ornamental dish., beautifully bright and shiny.

A lovely dish for your trinkets, sweets or just to enjoy as an ornament.
I find my fused glass pieces very tactile and this dish is lovely to just hold and I rather like to think it might be picked up just to admire the shimmer and the colours.
