Hippo Suncatcher stained glass hippopotamus

A Hippopotamus Suncatcher.

Stained Glass hand-crafted using the Tiffany Copper-foil technique.

A hippopotamus, round and blue and called Percy. No idea why, it just seems to suit him.

The hippo body is made from bright blue coloured textured glass and the face, which is added on top, is pink.  I’ve painted all the markings on the face and the toes then baked the painted pieces in the oven to make the paint permanent.

This pretty little hippo is finished off with a twist of wire for a tail .

A silver coloured little chain is securely attached to the top  with a little ring to hang it.

The hippo is 10 cm hign and 7 cm wide.

I am very pleased with this bright and cheerful design.  A lovely little decoration.

I supply it with a strong suction hook so it is all ready to hang.

Made by Joy and entirely handmade with love.

Postage is via Royal Mail first class small package.

Description

A  Hippopotamus stained glass suncatcher.

Handmade with love and designed to hang in the window and catch the light.

Each piece of glass is individually cut, shaped  on my grinder then carefully wrapped in copper foil and burnished before all the pieces are soldered together.

This will make a super, unique present..

It looks lovely hanging in the window where the colours catch the light and makes a lovely ornament for any room.

The suncatcher hangs from a little chain which is securely attached to the top. I always supply a suction hook so the suncatcher comes ready for you to hang.

I attach the chain using split rings so you can if you prefer replace it, maybe with a ribbon, quite easily.

Please note that no two of my suncatchers are ever the same even to the  same design.

I deliberately don’t keep a record of the types of glass used so it is pretty impossible for me to make an exact match and that is my intention. I like all my pieces to be unique and I always use different combinations of glass.

Posted out Royal Mail first class in a strong and innovative box with lots of padding to keep it safe on its journey to you
