Pastel Floral Wall Hanging Stained Glass Suncatcher

by JOYSOFGLASS

£30.00

A three flower stained glass suncatcher.  To hang on the wall like a picture and where the light catches it you will see it has a superb shimmer.  It can also hang in the window as a lightcatcher but the glass of the flowers is opaque and the light doesn’t shine through.

Gorgeously pretty with the three flowers in pastel shades. One pink. One turquoise and the other a pretty blotchy blue. The leaves and stalks are bright green and the central nuggets are dichroic glass fused in my kiln and very sparkly.

Stained Glass, 21cm high and 18 cm in diameter, hand-crafted using the Tiffany Copper-foil technique.

Made with and by Joy to be given with love.

Description

A stained glass floral suncatcher.

Like all my suncatchers, handmade with love. This one is designed to hang on a wall rather than in the window. The glass for the flowers is opaque so the light won’t shine through. With the light shining on it it is very shimmery because of the shiny glass in the petals and the central dichroic nuggets. It does though also look rather good in the window.

I designed this piece for myself as I had a needle felted hare and blue tit which needed a floral background. I liked what I had made so much I made another.

This item is absolutely unique. I never make two pieces exactly the same, I always use slightly different colours and textures of glass. In this case I cannot make another quite the same as the dichroic nuggets in the flowers are absolutely unique.

Each piece of glass is individually cut, shaped and copper foiled and then soldered together.  The bottom edge of the leaves and the main stem are framed with twisted wire for reinforcement. I then solder on little wire rings for hanging.

The flowers and leaves are firmly attached to each other and the stem.

It is 21cm high and 18cm wide and hangs from a little silver chain which is securely attached to the wire rings at the top. I always supply a strong suction hook so it comes ready for you to hang. I attach the chain using split rings so you can replace it, maybe with a ribbon, quite easily.

Please note that no two of my suncatchers  are ever the same even to the same design.  I deliberately don’t keep a record of the types of glass used so it is pretty impossible for me to make an exact match and that is my intention. I like all my pieces to be unique and I always use different combinations of glass.
