Poppy Mountain Stained Fused Glass Suncatcher Picture Handmade

by JOYSOFGLASS

£25.00

A scenic glass picture of snow capped mountains soaring above a foreground field of bright red poppies.

A fusion of Fused Glass and  of Stained Glass hand-crafted using the Tiffany Copper-foil technique.

One of my very own designs and I think it is quite stunning and very special.

The poppy field in the foreground is a little panel I fused in my kiln. I then incorporated it into a stained glass picture, suncatcher with snow capped mountains in the background above green fields and a strip of golden corn.

The picture is framed in clear glass with a pretty texture and then with a strengthening border of twisted wire.

It is 14cm x 15.5cm and hangs from a strong silvery chain which is securely attached at either side of the top.

It looks lovely when it hangs in the light  of a window but can equally be used as a picture against a plain wall..

Made by Joy and entirely handmade with love.

Description

A fusion of stained and fused glass as a suncatcher.

Handmade with love and designed to hang in the window and catch the light.

The poppy field is first of all fused in my kiln. All the other pieces of glass are individually cut and shaped on my grinder. They are all then carefully wrapped in copper foil and burnished before all the pieces are soldered together.

This will make a super, unique present for anyone.

It looks lovely hanging in the window where the colours catch the light and makes a lovely ornament for any room.

The suncatcher hangs from a little chain which is securely attached to the top. I always supply a suction hook so the suncatcher comes ready for you to hang.

I attach the chain using split rings so you can if you prefer replace it, maybe with a ribbon, quite easily.

Please note that no two of my suncatchers are ever the same even to the  same design.

I deliberately don’t keep a record of the types of glass used so it is pretty impossible for me to make an exact match and that is my intention. I like all my pieces to be unique and I always use different combinations of glass.
In this case I cannot replicate the poppy field as all my fused work is unique and unrepeatable.

Some years ago we visited Interlaken and I took the photo shown in the 4th picture of a foreground of red tulips with a backdrop of the beautiful Swiss Alps and the snow topped Eiger.

When I made this suncatcher I had this view in mind and decided to replace the red tulips with a field of red poppies.

I hope you like my interpretation of the view.
