Canongate Tolbooth

Original drawing of the Canongate Tolbooth on The Royal Mile, Edinburgh. Hand sketch using fine ink pen and pencil shading.

The building dates back to the 16th century where it was used to collect tolls for those travelling in the area. Part of the building was previously used as a Court House and Prison. The front section became a pub in 1820.
