I’m Kerry and I live in the beautiful Orkney Isles.
I have tinkered with different crafts for as long as I can remember, but it was when I moved to Orkney in 2015 that I discovered crochet and was completely hooked! (Excuse the pun!!) There’s nothing like sitting in front of a fire with a gale blowing outside and crocheting something beautiful.
Since then, I have also taught myself back strap weaving, which led to weaving on to a rigid heddle loom, an inkle loom and also a frame loom. I have also just started spinning, using a tiny little electric spinner.
As well as weaving, spinning and crochet I have rekindled my love of drawing and work mostly with watercolour pencils.
Living in Orkney has inspired me to be more creative, not only because of the beautiful surroundings and wildlife, but also because of the variety of very talented people I have met since moving here.
