Vendor Biography

I started to knit when I was a child and, when I was expecting my first born, I did knit a lot of outfits for him. When I was expecting my second child, I was finding it a little more difficult to juggle work and a toddler, and found that crochet was easier to pick up and put down. So, my second son had several crochet outfits. By the time I had my third son, I had bought a sewing machine and taught myself how to use it. I made pram and cot quilts, bumpers, baby nest and simple one piece outfits. Life was busy, with cats, Belgian hares and guinea pigs alongside work and school.

Now the lads are grown up, my friends have grandchildren and I enjoy making small baby items. Crochet is my most relaxing hobby. From September to March, I can be found making throws, blankets, hats and trying new patterns, curled up in front of a good film. Once Spring arrives, with the promise of sunshine, I try to learn something new. I went on a short course to learn about chalk painting furniture, upcycling, paint pouring and currently, I am having fun with papercrafts. You never know what you might enjoy until you try.
