Description
I made the original artwork, “Crooked Spire at Night”, from a collage of tiny offcuts of batik cotton fabrics appliqued onto cotton backing fabric and stitched with variegate threads using free embroidery machine stitching. It was my largest piece of textile art (measuring 16 x 20 inches and will be exhibited towards the end of May at the Peak Village in Derbyshire. In order to allow the wider appreciation of this evocative image, it has been professionally photographed in order to depict the colours and detail of the original piece, and printed onto high-quality textured paper.
This print of the original work is approximately 8 x 10 inches and is presented in a Larson-Juhl Minuet mount with backing board, and this is protected in a cellophane wrap. I have signed the print to indicate the authenticity of the artwork.
The size of the mount (14 x 11 inches) means that this item can fit a standard-sized frame. A frame is not included in the sale.
The image was inspired by a photo that I took late one February evening when walking past Chesterfield’s iconic crooked spire. The original collage took me many months to complete! The original is currently displayed in the Harley Open Exhibition at the Harley Gallery near Worksop, until 13th October. If you like the image but don’t want a piece of wall art, I do have a greetings card of the same artwork.

For most items, I will send your order with Royal Mail, 2nd class, unless you request a different method (such as first class or tracked) in which case an additional charge will be made.
Because I want my business to be as sustainable and ecofriendly as possible, I will send your order in reused packaging if I have any that is suitable. I hope you will agree that it's the quality of what's inside the packet that's important, rather than the aesthetics of the outer packaging.
If you would like your purchase to be sent directly as a gift to a recipient with a different address in UK, please let me know and I will gift wrap the item in tissue paper and include a gift tag with a handwritten message of your choice.
Refund Policy
If you wish to cancel your order, please do so within 24 hours of ordering so that I can issue a refund before dispatch.
If there is a problem with your order when you have received it, please contact me within 30 days of your order being placed. I will issue a refund, on the return of the product, providing that it is returned in the same condition as it was dispatched.
