Giraffe Stained Glass Suncatcher Oval

by JOYSOFGLASS

£27.50

A Giraffe Suncatcher inside an oval medallion of pretty textured blue glass.

Stained Glass hand-crafted using the Tiffany Copper-foil technique.

A giraffe named Sophie. Ok not a normal name for a giraffe maybe but I made her so I get to choose the name.

I designed it by finding a picture of a happy looking giraffe, just neck upwards, traced it and then enclosed it in a medallion of blue, pretty textured glass, as an African safari sky.

The giraffe itself is made from my blotchiest giraffe coloured glass, lots of streaks and smudges. Eyes are pretty flower beads which make the giraffe smile and hopefully, also, anyone looking at it.

This is 15cm x 11cm.  I’ve framed it with twisted wire to make it strong and it hangs from two points on the top with a silvery chain.

I’ve surrounded the oval with twisted wire for strength and neatness.

I supply it with a strong suction hook so it is all ready to hang.

Made by Joy and entirely handmade with love.

Description

A  Giraffe stained glass suncatcher.

Handmade with love and designed to hang in the window and catch the light.

Each piece of glass is individually cut, shaped  on my grinder then carefully wrapped in copper foil and burnished before all the pieces are soldered together.  I then add any embellishments, such as the twisted wire frame.

This will make a super, unique present for anyone and a lovely ornament for any room.

The suncatcher hangs from a little chain which is securely attached to the top. I always supply a suction hook so the suncatcher comes ready for you to hang.

I attach the chain using split rings so you can if you prefer replace it, maybe with a ribbon, quite easily.

Please note that no two of my suncatchers are ever the same even to the  same design.

I deliberately don’t keep a record of the types of glass used so it is pretty impossible for me to make an exact match and that is my intention. I like all my pieces to be unique and I always use different combinations of glass.

Posted out Royal Mail Tracked 24 in a strong and innovative box with lots of padding to keep it safe on its journey to you
